SAFERS has recently unveiled a video showcasing the project's latest field demonstration in Thessaloniki in Greece, held at the premises of the Central Macedonia’s Regional Council. The demo was conducted in December 2023 through an exercise that was designed for testing and providing feedback on the β2 version of SAFERS integrated platform and intelligent services.
The exercise was inspired by the fire in Seich Sou Forest of Thessaloniki in 1997. The overall coordination for the Thessaloniki demonstration was carried out by Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT) with the support of HMOD. The event gathered more than 70 participants from 16 different organizations. Most of them were directly involved in wildfire risk management operations, including technology providers, first responders, local authorities, citizens and external observers.
