In this final animation, we look back over the main achievements of the H2020 project SAFERS.
SAFERS partners have managed to create over the past 3,5 years an integrated and open-source platform that helps preventing and managing forest fires. SAFERS Intelligent Services are now operational and implemented by Piedmont Regional Civil Protection (with the support of CSI Piemonte) in Italy and Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT) in Greece. Additionally, more than 30 organizations from 13 different countries are currently testing SAFERS platform in the framework of its free trial campaign.

SAFERS has recently unveiled a video showcasing the project's latest field demonstration in Thessaloniki in Greece, held at the premises of the Central Macedonia’s Regional Council. The demo was conducted in December 2023 through an exercise that was designed for testing and providing feedback on the β2 version of SAFERS integrated platform and intelligent services.
The final exploitation event of SAFERS was held at the Lavazza Museum in Turin on March 4th, 2024. The project coordinator, Claudio Rossi as well as the technology providers of SAFERS presented the project and its integrated platform to several European stakeholders, such as Esri Italia SpA - Esri Inc, Regione Piemonte, Satways Ltd and Ithaca S.r.l..
A recent published articles on the website of the European Research Executive Agency (REA) mentioned the SAFERS project as an important artificial intelligence initiative in environment protection.
