SAFERS Intelligent Services: Smoke and fire detection systems (SmoCAM)

The SAFERS “Smoke and fire detection systems” intelligent service - i.e. the SmoCAM - is based on artificial intelligence that analyses images and detects the presence of smoke and fire developed by WaterView. It provides a video analytics solution that works in the visible spectrum and exploits common surveillance cameras to early detect smoke plumes in outdoor, thus reinforcing prevention activities even when thermal cameras fail.

SAFERS Intelligent Services: Sub-seasonal Weather Forecast

SAFERS Intelligent Services: Sub-seasonal Weather Forecast

Sub-seasonal weather forecast plays a major part in SAFERS platform as it supports the identification of potential wildfire risks and thus allows for early warnings. The data forecast of relevant variables for forest fire risk prediction is provided by the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI). The FMI is a research and service agency which performs advanced scientific research and provides a wide variety of information service relating to weather, climate, marine and air quality.
